As I writer I write about just everything. One of my characters as of late was taking a pregnancy test. I forgot which symbol was which. Was one line pregnant or two lines? I Googled it and all I came up with was pluses or minuses. So I had to do something I really did not want to do.
I called my mother.
Now don't assume I don't like my mother. I do. But she doesn't listen very well. The conversation went like this:
Me: Hey, Mom, I have a question.
Mom: What?
Me: It's for creative writing. On a pregnancy test what is pregnant, one line or two?
Mom: What? Wait, what is the result?
Me: One.
Mom: One line good. Two lines bad. Why? Who took the test?
Me: I dunno, some chick I just wrote about.
Mom: Oh! Okay. Don't scare me like that. Bye love ya *click*
So my mother thought when I was writing a story I was taking a pregnancy test. Thanks, Mom!
